Sub-Device field in Get/Set DMX512 Personality Setup Command allow to use value in range "0x0000 (Root) or 0x0001- 0x0200 or 0xFFFF"
Can I set Personality for each subdevice? Last edited by sblair; July 8th, 2008 at 09:27 PM. |

Yes, it is technically possible to set a different Personality for each sub-device.
From a practical point of view though I would say that it would probably confuse many controllers that might be trying to do something intelligent based on the personality that gets reported for the Root device. What type of application are you using it for? There might be a more straightforward implementation that we could suggest.
