RDM over Art-Net
How widespread is RDM over Art-Net? I understand RDMnet is on the way however I'm interested to know how usable/used RDM over Art-Net actually is.

Artistic License uses it heavily in a single controller environment, and there are other companies. I'll let others tell you about their implementation.
You may want to check out this link on OLA about the potential downfalls: http://opendmx.net/index.php/ArtNet,...t_Interleaving |

Yes I was aware of the interleaving issue but although multiple controllers is certainly a nice to have feature we're not talking about a show stopper if the monitoring system goes down. I don't know how anyone's implemented a standby console with RDM but personally I'd just leave RDM disabled on the standby and manually activate it when required. After all it's not like RDM messages are time sensitive, we're definitely not talking about a SCADA system here!
Would be great to hear what some of the RDM experts think.
