same Software Version ID for different Model IDs ?
I plan to use same software for several Models of RDM LED array fixtures.
the aim is to reduce production complexity so that one main software will be programmed to all PCBs. then at the last phase of production , the Model ID and Device ID will be determined via Special PID or SC=0x91. this process will be done in factory and will not available for costumers. so naturally all products will have same software version ID, same PIDs, and different model IDs, and different Personality descriptions. for example : Model 1: 15 LEDs, software Ver 1.0, Personality: 1,3,5 LED/Pixel Model 2: 30 LEDs, software Ver 1.0, Personality: 1,2,3,5,6,10,15 LED/Pixel Model 3: 45 LEDs, software Ver 1.0, Personality: 1,3,5,9,15 LED/Pixel It seems complies to 10.4.1 criteria, I am not sure since the personalities are different. I considered previous discussions: http://www.rdmprotocol.org/forums/sh...ghlight=x.spot http://www.rdmprotocol.org/forums/sh...ghlight=x.spot Is it OK to have same software Version ID for different Model IDs ? or shall I generate individual softwares for different models ? |
This approach seems fine to me.
