Default Open Source SLP Code

Hi everyone,

For a variety of reasons (documented at http://opendmx.net/index.php/Open_SLP_Notes), I ended up writing a replacement for openslp (SA, UA, DA & client library). It's in my development branch right now (http://code.google.com/r/simon-dev/source/browse) but I'll merge it into the OLA mainline in the next few weeks once the test coverage has improved.

One of the big reasons for doing this was to make it easier for me to debug other SLP implementations. Openslp doesn't have verbose logging, so it often takes digging through the code to figure out why it doesn't accept registations.

I haven't implemented the following:
  • TCP
  • Attributes & predicate matching
  • Authentication / SPI

Let me know if you have any questions
Simon

I've merged the SLP code into the mainline. Test coverage is 98.5%

If you want a managed implementation then here is a link to an open source library that contains a c# implementation of SLP.
