DMX break timing

1 Attachment(s)
hi

I am trying to implement DMX LED fixture

ANSI E1.11 says BREAK 92-176 us for transmitter (Table-6)
and 88-176 us for receiver (Table-7)

during a test I measured a transmiter BREAK 204 us
It is a famous brand and I am confused

shall I accept 204 us as correct BREAK or not ?

I don't think you are reading the tables right. What you have listed as the Max in your post is actually the "Typical" or recommended value. There is no Max listed for the BREAK length as it can be of unlimited length. This is why we put the "Typical" numbers in there to give some recommended guidance. So a BREAK length of 204uS is completely legitimate and a quite reasonable length for E1.11.

Ok
so dmx device doesn't need to worry about max value of BREAK time, just see if it is greater than 88 us or not

Typical value for transmiter is meaningful,

But in receiver confusing me, I didn't get why recommended :/
