The lighting controls industry has evolved. DMX512, the control standard across entertainment lighting controls, now offers two-way communications for configuration, monitoring and system setup.
RDM, an official ANSI standard, allows compatible devices to communicate over the same DMX cabling already installed in your venue in new and exciting ways. The mantra of the design team was that RDM must be ‘faster than the ladder’ and the resulting standard delivers just that.
It is now possible from your lighting console to discover, configure and monitor any RDM enabled device. Where previously hours of time were spent building patch files for a console, now it is simply possible to push a button and automate this process.
This website aims to explain some of the benefits of RDM and how to use this powerful new standard.
